Najava: Promocija knjige “Osmanski popisni defteri stanovništva Visokog i okoline iz 1850. godine”

U okviru manifestacije “Dani islamske tradicije Bošnjaka”, 23. 11. 2022. godine, Institut za islamsku tradiciju Bošnjaka organizuje promociju knjige “Osmanski popisni defteri stanovništva Visokog i okoline iz 1850. godine” u Kulturnom centru Altindag u Visokom, sa početkom u 18:30 sati.

Autor knjige je dr. Ramiza Smajić. Pored autora, o knjizi će na promociji govoriti i direktor Instituta dr. Ferid Dautović i dr. Emir Demir.

Working meeting regarding the conference: “The Islamic tradition of Bosniaks at the turn of the century: Challenges and responses”

11/20/2017. – Sarajevo. A working-consultative meeting on the scientific conference “The Islamic tradition of Bosniaks at the turn of the century: Challenges and Responses” was held today at the premises of the Institute. The conference is organized by the Institute for Islamic Tradition of Bosniaks in cooperation with the Directorate for Religious Affairs and the Directorate for Education and Science of the Riyaset, and with the support of the Turkish Administration for International Cooperation and Development (TIKA).

The Riyaset of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina have organized in 2007 the First Scientific Conference on the Islamic Tradition of Bosniaks entitled “Islamic Tradition of Bosniaks: Sources, Development, Institutions, Perspectives”. The aim of the conference was to identify the challenges of new interpretation of Islam and to provide an adequate response to them. After that, the Second Scientific Conference “The Islamic Discourse in / for B&H: The State, Perspectives and Priorities” was followed in 2010, organized by the Institute for Islamic Tradition of Bosniaks, which was also a continuation of activities aimed at identifying and responding to the challenges to the Islamic tradition Bosniaks.

The forthcoming Third Conference, titled “The Islamic Tradition of Bosniaks at the turn of the century: Challenges and Responses” will be held in the Gazi Husrev-bey’s Library in Sarajevo on December 21st 2017. It will address the historical circumstances that have helped the spread of new interpretation of Islam in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the discourse of non-institutional interpretaors of Islam and the responses of the Islamic Community to these issues.

The meeting was attended by: Ibrahim Begović, the director of the Directorate for Education and Science, mr. Nusret Abdibegović, the director of the Directorate for Religious Affairs, Enver Resulogullari, deputy director of TIKA’s Representative Office for Bosnia and Herzegovina, dr. Dževada Šuško, the director of the Institute for Islamic Tradition of Bosniaks, Nedžad Avdić, Assistant Director of TIKA and research associates of the Institute dr. Elvir Duranović and mr. Sumeja Ljevakovic-Subasic.

Institute supports research project “Syncretic Cultural and Religious Practices and Customs of Bosniaks in Podrinje”

In 2016 the Academic Board of the Institute for Islamic Tradition of Bosniaks decided to support the research project of Bosnian-born Australian scholar dr. Hariz Halilovich “Sinkretičke kulturno-religijske prakse i zavičajni običaji Bošnjaka Podrinja” (“Syncretic Cultural and Religious Practices and Customs of Bosniaks in Podrinje”). The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2016.
