Round-table “Religion in SFRY and DDR”

28.04.2017. – At the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Sarajevo a round-table titled “Religion in SFRY and DDR” was organized by the Institute for Islamic Tradition of Bosniaks.Institute Director Dr.Dževada Šuško opened the round-table and gave a welcome note. The moderator of the round-table was Hikmet Karčić, M.A., Researcher at the Institute for Islamic Tradition gave an introductory note and spoke about the participants: Dr.Pero Sudar, auxiliary bishop of Vrhbosna in Bosnia and Herzegovina; Dr.Hilmo Neimarlija, former Professor at the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Dr.Karsten Dümmel, Director of Konrad Adenauer Foundation. Dr.Dümmel spoke about his experiences in DDR, while Dr.Sudar and Dr.Neimarlija spoke about their personal experiences in SFRY. Dr.Neimarlija gave special attention to the case of “Parergon” from 1979.

The Third Annual Undergraduate Conference “YOUTH IN ISLAM”

19.05.2017. – European Muslims Student Association (EMSA) u saradnji s Islamskim pedagoškim fakultetom Univerziteta u Zenici organizuje Treću godišnju konfereciju za dodiplomce (The Third Annual Undergraduate Conference) pod nazivom “Mladi u islamu”. Konferencija će se održati u petak 19.05.2017. s početkom u 10 sati u prostorijama International University of Sarajevo (IUS), Hrasnička bb, Ilidža. Uvodno izlaganje na temu “Muslimani u Evropi” održat će dr. Dževada Šuško, direktorica Instituta za islamsku tradiciju Bošnjaka. Za više informacija pogledajte ovdje.

Workshop “Islamic Studies and Islamic Theology in Europe Today: Challenges and Perspectives”

 On 2 August 2014 a workshop titled “Islamic Studies and Islamic Theology in Europe Today: Challenges and Perspectives” was held at the Faculty of Islamic studies.

 

The workshop included an introductory lectures by prominent professors followed by presentations of master and doctoral research students’ projects. This wias an opportunity to discuss the projects with other colleagues and also to meet and network with researchers focusing on Islamic studies and theology. It was also a chance to discuss current research focuses and challenges ahead.
