2-3 October 2017, Sumeja Ljevaković-Subašić delivered a paper at the International Conference “Central Europe and Balkan Muslims: Relations and Representations” organized by the Institute of History and the Institute of Ethnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The conference brought together scientists from ten countries of Europe, including Dr. Zora Hesova, Dr. Clemens Ruthner, Dr. Drago Roksandić and others. It is interesting to talk about Bosnian Muslims in the Czech Republic since Islam was recognized as a religion in Czech Republic in 1912 by the “Law on Islam” adopted by Austro-Hungarian Empire after the annexation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sumeja Ljevaković Subašić presented a paper on “Educational Policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina during Austro-Hungarian Rule with a Special Reference to Muslim Women’s Education”.
